application process
- Meet with the Program Director when they are on your campus to share your interest!
- Say “YES” to attend U4C and decide what year to attend the program.
- Declare Urban Studies as your major at your college.
- Meet with U4C Faculty Representative at your college to go over the academic advising plan.
- Submit “U4C application” for acceptance to U4C program. Apply online, mail or email application to Program Director at: 1901 Portland Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404.
- Contact from the Program Director for interview—(The purpose of the interview for the Program Director is to get to know you, hear how your call to the city has been shaped by the experiences that you’ve had, and hear the goals that you have for your time in the program and areas of interest for the internship program.)
- Become formally accepted into the program! (upon completion of the appropriate applications and approval of both the U4C program and your college)
- Register for U4C program classes at the appropriate time during the spring semester; prior to the fall semester you will become a resident of the city. This means that when you register for classes in spring, you do not need to register for room and board.
- Register for financial aid as you normally would during the spring semester; prior to the fall semester you will become a resident of the city. Financial Aid covers both U4C classes and housing!
